daniellepac

Name: Danielle Veasley
Hometown: Southfield, MI
College: College of Arts and Letters
Major: Communication Studies (Public Relations minor)
Year in school: Senior (Graduating Fall 2024!)
Interesting fact about yourself/experience: I am a SEA (science, education, arts) Scholar at the FAU Marine Lab located inside the Gumbo Limbo Environmental Complex! I have the opportunity to help out with the marine lab's research on Loggerhead, Green, and Leatherback sea turtles! Another important aspect of my role is sharing our lab findings with the public through outreach events, activities, and gallery tours. This role has taught me so much about marine biology, research studies, and--the best part--sea turtles!
Advice for being successful at FAU: There are many ways to be successful at FAU, but I recommend just being yourself! Explore the things that you are passionate about, then look for communities that share the same interests or experiences as you. FAU offers a ton of ways to get involved on campus, whether it be attending a club/org meeting, going to sporting events or the library, or even eating at the dining hall with friends. By being true to who you are, you can introduce yourself to others without pressure, and form lifelong connections and friendships!

Name: Sydney Worrall
Hometown: Homestead, FL.
College: The College of Arts and Letters
Major: Master's Student (Antrhopology); Undergraduate (Biomedical Science)
Year in school: Graduate Student
Interesting fact about yourself/experience: I have been to over 30 concerts! I also have a black cat named Noya!
What is your advise for success at FAU?: My advice is to find what works for you. Maybe it's studying in the library, or a coffee shop, or its listening to lectures while working out, even listening to the mario kart soundtrack while working. Just because it's not traditional study or life habits doesn't mean it's not effective!

Availability: Monday, Tuesday, & Friday

Interesting fact about yourself/experience: I breed over 20 ornamental marine fish and coral and own a mobile detailing business here in South Florida called Ride with Pride Detailing.
What is your advise for success at FAU?: "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take." The worst thing that can happen is you learn something. When moment you start focusing on mistakes as lessons instead of failures, is your full potential is unlocked.
